Abstract

Diaries kept by Bastin recounting his military service with the 28th Wisconsin Infantry, Company G. The first two diaries document the years 1863 and 1864 and describe his military life including expeditions, illnesses, politics, duties, and camp life. Most of the diary entries are written from either the area around Helena (Ark.) or Little Rock (Ark.).
